Epson SR-610, November 2005
| PoS terminal with system Meerbusch, November 2005. The latest progeny of the highly successful Epson SR range impresses at all points of sale, be it in any specialised retail or hospitality, in boutiques or the hardware trade. The Epson SR-610 is a multi-talent and there is more to it than just good looks. For example, ostensible contradictions are combined in this terminal which is both compact and comprehensive. Whilst its design is contemporary, its functionality is pioneering. It is robust yet stylish, powerful but low on power consumption. The Epson SR-610 combines an open architecture with a closed system. As of November 2005 Epson sets new standards at the POS in the hospitality and specialised retail industry with the Epson SR 610.
Modest and secure in many ways The Epson SR-610 is a star with regard to equipment. The innovative Intel mobile processors have transformed the system into a thrifty sprinter: The Intel Celeron® M 1.3 GHz chip set operates fast, quiet and economically. Comparable desk top processors require up to 10 times more energy. For PoS terminals operated 24/7 this signifies an enormous saving potential, making the Epson SR-610 a highly economical proposition solution.
An open concept perfected to the last detail The open concept of the Epson SR-610 permits a flexible response to different requirements placed on the equipment by modern enterprises. Additional peripherals such as card terminal or barcode scanners can be easily connected via four sophisticated high-speed USB 2.0 ports at the front and bottom of the casing. A CD ROM or a floppy disk drive as well as a CompactFlash card can be optionally connected. Invisible cable connections below the SR and a lockable front panel provide tidiness.
Function at its best A particular focus in the development of the Epson SR-610 was the convenient and functional design. The optically appealing stylish, contemporary, handy and functional design can be perfectly integrated in any POS terminal environment. Classic “dirt catchers” have been avoided at the design stage; however the casing and the individually adjustable touchscreen can be cleaned with ease. The 12.1“ TFT display with SVGA resolution is both versatile and durable. Dirt, finger prints and other impurities on the touchscreen can be removed easily. However, the variable user interface is very impressive. It can be individually configured and is easily comprehensible thus ensuring smooth operation even in high labour turnover. For example, all functions can be assigned icons or images enabling easy operation also for new staff members. To put it in a nutshell: The Epson SR-610 is a great terminal with a small footprint.
